So, this is an Usborne book review from my toddler. “That’s not my pig…” Have you heard of Usborne books before?
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received my very first box of Usborne books. Don’t get me wrong, I had only heard amazing things about the company. Growing up I remember my mom telling me they were the best books you can buy.
You know how things your parents tell you when you’re young stick with you? I’m sure they thought I didn’t pay attention to anything they were saying. Sound familiar? Well, I guess I am proof that theory is wrong…
Also, my mom wasn’t wrong either… at least about Usborne books. Plus, mom’s are always right aren’t they? 😉
I am telling you as a homeschooling mom of four, I think they are fantastic! Well at least you know I think so… but what I think really doesn’t matter, at least when it comes to board books. So onto the more important review!
What does Adalaide think of it?
Bedtime has been a struggle for me in the past, but now it is a time where I get to read to my kids and just enjoy them. When I took these pictures Adalaide was tired and really ready for a nap, but she didn’t want to skip her favorite book so I enlisted a helper.
Every single night for several months this book was a must on her list. I think that’s saying something for a horse obsessed little girl. 😉
Before she even turned two she would say (or yell) the last word of each line as I was reading. It is catchy rhyming awesomeness. On top of that every page has a different texture for her to touch as she is learning the word for what she is feeling. Make sense? Soft, scratchy, and rough are just a few words that have entered her vocabulary because of this book.
I have a feeling it’s going to be living right here on her bed for quite some time, and that makes my heart happy.
If I didn’t say enough good things about it, here is a Short VIDEO to give you an idea about how she feels about this book.
What do you think? Would your toddler love this book as much as mine does?
